Mulligan Mobilization Technique
Mulligan belt mobilization is a technique created by Brian Mulligan (physical and manual therapist) from New Zealand.
It uses a seatbelt type device which enhances the doctor’s ability to distract and isolate joints for more intensive movement than would otherwise be available.
It is a fairly painless enhancement to more traditional techniques, but one that allows for a more significant and quick response.
This technique is most useful for shoulder and hip issues, especially tight, restrictive, or overused joints resulting in painful motion or limited athletic performance.
When combined with other treatments and rehab, the Mulligan technique can and often times is a catalyst to a more full and rapid recovery.
