Laser Biostimulation
One of the newest advances in physical therapy modalities is the addition of low-level laser biostimulation equipment. The FDA approved use of Class 3 and Class 4 low-level laser therapy (LLLT) for the use of musculo-skeletal, neurological, and tissue-repair conditions on or about the year 2002.
Here at IFCC we utilize both a Class 4 K-Laser and a Class 3 ML-830. We have been treating people with LLLT since 2005. The word “biostimulation” is the medical term describing how exposure to laser light enhances tissue growth and healing. A brief list of these enhancements is accelerated tissue repair, reduction of pain, new blood vessel growth, increased oxygenation, etc.
Here is a list of conditions that have shown great responsiveness to LLLT:
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Tennis /Golfers Elbow
Strains/Sprains
Plantar Fascitis
Shingles
Small wounds
Disc injuries
Arthritic pain
