Diowave Laser

Class 4 photobiological lasers have been FDA approved in the USA since approximately 2007. Prior to that time, they had been studied, manufactured, and used in various other countries, including Germany and Italy.

They are currently also used in many veterinarian offices and as a part of collegiate and professional sports teams’ rehabilitation departments.

Here at Irwin Chiropractic, we have been utilizing lasers since 2007. The physics and physiology behind their success is quite complicated and is beyond the scope of this description. However, much of the benefits derived are related to the laser’s ability to deposit energy into the cellular tissues to significantly increase the rate of repair and reduce inflammation and pain.

Many conditions seem to respond well to laser treatment. A few of the more common conditions include tendinitis, bursitis, muscle spasms and inflammation, plantar fasciitis, shingles, and strains/sprains.

Laser treatments are painless and take between 5-10 minutes. After 10 plus years of using these devices, we can confidently say that they have become one of the most profound advances in conservative musculoskeletal care.
